WATG Press is an independent literary press.
We publish because we love literature—and because we believe writers should be paid whenever possible.

This fund exists to support writer payments and help us open paid calls for submissions whenever we can.
The more support this fund receives, the more often we can publish paid work.

Why This Fund

Our anthologies are starting to generate royalties, but not yet enough to cover all publishing costs and pay writers for every call.

As the founder of WATG Press, I—Dakria—personally invest in the press to ensure it exists as a legal entity and provides real recognition to both the press and its contributors.

We have enough resources to continue operating while royalties grow and move us toward full independence. However, I chose to personally fund the Eerie Lullaby call to show our contributors how much their work and support matter to us. The payment may be modest, but it reflects our values.

The reality is simple: we cannot pay writers for every call for submissions.

This fund helps us turn unpaid calls into paid ones, as often as possible.

• Keep submissions free and accessible

• Support writers from different countries and backgrounds by covering currency conversion and transfer fees when possible

When the fund grows, we can increase writer payments or open more paid calls.
